Law of Attraction – How To Make Your Life Better?
CLI’s world renowned coaching certification programs rely heavily on a clear understanding of the Universal Laws of Human Behaviour. One of the main Laws we frequently come across is the Law of Attraction which says, “We attract people, places and things into our lives to help us grow emotionally, intellectually, spiritually and physically. Some will push our buttons. Others will celebrate life with us.”
Decoding simply, the cells in our body which are in charge of our positive or negative traits / behaviours have a certain frequency. Everything has a vibration / frequency! This cellular frequency attracts other human beings with the same cellular frequency on a given issue so that we can learn from them.
When we positively change the frequency and dynamics of our environment, we can transform our lives. Is it time for you to look at who your friends are? Is it time about changing your work environment for a more positive one? Every day should be celebration – not a burden on our spirit.

Universal Law #10: “Laws of Giving” – How Sharing Expands our Hearts
“As you give love, you receive that love back again. As you give, you gain in understanding.”
Have you observed how truly happy people always give love unconditionally? Mother Teresa devoted her entire life to giving empathy, compassion and care for thousands of needy around the world. I was moved to tears to see pictures of her lifting up the sick and wounded into her arms from the streets of India. Such a beautiful shining example of the Law of Giving.
Imagine yourself as a Leader, Executive Coach, Parent or team member inviting your colleagues and family members to more freely “share” with each other. Maybe your garden is overflowing with cucumbers. Or maybe your Cook in India made too many chapatis for lunch. These can also be shared with the poor and sick.
As a Leader you could invite your colleagues to ‘share’ how they demonstrate compassion, respect and acceptance.
Our greatest teachers for this law are the animals who ‘give’ their love unconditionally. It expands our hearts to share.

Listening Skills – Key Competency of a Good Leader, Parent or Coach
Have you ever wondered the real difference between hearing and listening? Active listening, as we learn during CLI’s Executive Coaching Certification Program, has four parts to it taken from the Chinese symbol “To Listen”.
We listen with:
Our eyes: When we ‘listen’ with our eyes, we pay attention to body language, to their eyes, and their facial features.
With Undivided Attention: How often have you walked into someone’s office and, while you are talking to them, they continue to type on their computer? This drives me crazy! Same with a life partner or a child, we demonstrate undivided attention when we turn our whole body to them and fully listen to what they are saying. This says to them, “you are important to me”.
Heart: The heart is often ignored because old school leaders think this is ‘fluffy stuff’. Nothing is more important than listening to someone’s feelings. This says, “I care about your feelings.”

Universal Law #8: “The Mirror Law” – When I look in the Mirror, What do I See?
“What I see in others is a reflection of what I see in myself.”
This law states that if we are emotionally charged when thinking about someone else’s unconstructive behaviour, then they are mirroring back to us that we have the very same behaviour. This is THE toughest law for people to embrace. Often, we stubbornly don’t want to see the mirror.
For years I was blaming husband John for the communication issues in our marriage until my Executive Coach pointed this law out to me. I said to her, “You mean, because I get angry at John’s lousy ability to communicate, that I, too, must be lousy at communicating?” The silence at the end of the phone was my answer.
Sheesh. Tough pill to swallow, eh? Later that day I apologized to John and asked forgiveness for the many years I silently blamed him.
“If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” – Mother Teresa
The Law also states that if we are happy with someone else’s behaviour, then they are mirroring back to us that we too have that wonderful, positive behaviour. Celebrate that!

Universal Law #7: “The Law of Attraction” – Why We Attract What We do
I was working with an Executive Coaching client today and man was she angry! She was angry at her entire team because they were not working hard enough to get a specific project done on time.
Hmmm. Any thoughts on why she ‘attracted’ this situation?
This Universal Law says, “I attract people, places and things into my life to help me grow emotionally, intellectually, spiritually and physically.”
‘Sally’ learned that she attracted the situation in order to learn some key leadership Values: Compassion, Understanding and Patience. First, Sally needed to move into a place of Compassion and Understand that her employees must have a reason for their tardiness. Then with Patience she coached her employees using The Be a Star Executive Coaching methodology and helped everyone recognize why the employees were so far behind. Her anger disappeared and forward action took place.
Easy stuff (when we know how!).

Why People Have Trouble Taking Advice
Have you ever had a sick friend or family member who would not accept the advice that you have given them?
Why does this seem to happen?
Some of the reasons could be that they have very little clarity due to unconstructive patterns causing them to stay unwell, the disbelief that anyone could know more than medical doctors, plain stubbornness or not wishing to change their diet. Professional Coaches who undergo a Life Coaching Training Program can free people from these misconceptions. It is human nature to blame outside circumstances when we feel hurt or become sick; however, The Universal Law of Choice says, “If we want to change our lives, we must change our choices.”
Mature personal leadership invites us to reach out for others to help us as we take responsibility for our situation. We are the only ones who can change who we are.
