Fun at Work – Why is this important?

Hmm… we spend most of our days in our respective offices. It makes sense then to put effort into making our time spent in the office and work environment enjoyable. Look up the best companies and “Google will surely figure in the top five. Why is working so much fun there?

Fun at WorkA “fun atmosphere” provides employees a release valve, allows them an in-house platform to express themselves and facilitates their personality to flower. It enables employees to better deal with stressful situations and challenges with greater optimism and energy. Fun does not mean work is not taken seriously but by putting in place firm norms and right balance, work places can be more fun than homes.

Celebrating Birthdays,Employee Appreciation Days and having Fundoo Fridays or fun with on the spot games and quizzes can really liven up the atmosphere. However, the choice of humour in the office must not be offensive or gender targeted but plain old fun. In Betska K-Burr’s book, Creating Champions, you will find dozens of ways to bring more fun, humour and lightness to the workplace.

The CLI Value of ‘Self-Love’ – The Power of Self-Love

Self-Love is what we all strive for, isn’t it? As Executive and Life Coaches, we find that ‘Self-Love’ is one of the top ten Values sought by our Clients. What really bothers us deep down at a heart level in most everyday situations is that we do not really love ourselves, our worth, our unique skills and gifted talents well enough.

The Power of Self-LoveThat request for ‘Self-Love’ comes disguised as many possible goals unique to each individual. For example:

To a leader, “I want to better engage my employees.”

To myself, “I want to be a better manager of my time” or “Help me acquire a Healthier diet.”

To a wife, “I want my husband to show me that he loves me.”

To a Parent, “I truly wish for my teenage son to connect with me and talk to me. To share his problems with me.”

Under each of these goals is a desire for Self-Love, to be the most loving, most generous and the most caring person. Through the PCMK™ Curriculum for Life Coach Training, we learn to reconnect with ourselves through self-love.

The CLI Value of ‘Enthusiasm’ – The Nourishment for Every Goal

Enthusiasm - The Nourishment for Every Goal Have you attended boring training sessions so lovingly organized for you by your HR department?  What was one of the key reasons that you felt disconnected?  It has to be Lack of Enthusiasm.  The CLI Values Card of Enthusiasm brings to the fore one single frequency that connects with frequencies of the entire audience in the session/class so that the whole group is enthused to rise individually and collectively to learn better ways to deliver value and improve in a specific goal or the area being worked upon.

Enthusiasm as learned during Executive Coach Training brings desire to learn, overcome challenges with resolve and go through our life journey with happy anticipation and peace of mind.  (Nice thought, eh?)  The right amount of Enthusiasm is the life blood of any human interaction.

Where are you on the Enthusiasm scale with respect to your life in general?  Pick a number between 1 and 10, with 10 being highest enthusiasm.

The CLI Value of ‘Service’ – The Power of Selfless Service

What do you think is the meaning of Selfless Service to a parent, soldier or CEO of an organization?

To a Parent would be to let his/her children grow up in a loving and caring environment that enables them to become responsible citizens of the society.

The Power of Selfless ServiceService to a Soldier would be to protect the honour of his country while guarding borders or when serving overseas under the United Nations.  In fact Service connotes the ultimate sacrifice in Serving of the Flag of the Nation.

Service to a Business Head/CEO would be to serve internal and external stakeholders with compassion and humility. Please check out the story of Shivinder Singh, Co-founder of Fortis Healthcare.  “I am inspired to do more direct Service and give back to society a little of what I have received in abundance.”

CLI’s Life Coaching Program focuses on “Selfless Service.”  Leaders from all walks of life and positions come to learn that serving self first is ultimate.  A Leader who studies self (deepest beliefs, values, fears, emotions, goals, obstacles etc.) acquires a higher IQ and EQ and therefore can better serve others.

The CLI Value of ‘Service’ – What is Service All about?

CLI Power Coaches and their clients use a deck of CLI Values Cards.  Each of these 76 cards has a different ‘Value’ printed on it such as “respect”, “honesty” and “acceptance” and each has a different frequency.  Interesting isn’t it?  One of the most wonderful CLI Values cards that you can draw out as you begin your day is “Service”. What does it connote to you?

Customer Service To an Executive or Life Coach, Service is All about the Client – how best to serve his/her client to achieve their desired outcomes.

To a CEO or Senior Manager, Service is All about the Employee – how to best serve their employees so that they can stretch and grow and be inspired to do their best work for the end-user customer.

To a Church or Temple Leader, Service is All about the Parishioners – how to help them open their hearts to truly believe in themselves and in each other in order to create a better world for future generations.

Universal Law #13: “The Law of Forgiveness” – Key to a More Compassionate and Loving Life

What a beautiful thing it would be if we could forgive ourselves and others for the burdens of perceived wrongs, guilt, judgment, shame, slights, humiliation or sense of depriving what we thought was lawfully ours?

Imagine how light our soul would be!

“Forgive Ourselves: The Law of Forgiveness To be able to receive love from others.
“Forgive Others:  To be able to give more love to them.”

With forgiveness, we tell others that we no longer hold ourselves or them guilty.  We pardon, absolve, condone, and overlook everything that is stopping us from loving our self and others more.  We, in effect, join hands with the culprit or the tormentor in a journey of Self-Transformation.  We become our own life coach.

All great Teachers invite us to be generous in forgiving ourselves first for the ‘sins’ or ‘mistakes’ made.  To err is human and to forgive is divine.  It is only by forgiving each other for the vagaries of wars that nations will, one day, no longer go to war.
